While already enjoying plush homes on both coasts, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are now mulling the delights of a home in Manhattan.
As New Yorkers will know, the Apthorp, the 100-year old landmark on the Upper West Side is being converted to condos, and Brad and Angelina have their names on the list.
When work has placed them in New York before, the couple have rented. But with Angelina, 34, now in town to shoot, ‘Salt,’ and paying a cool $100,000 a month for the eleven-bedroom, 5-acre splendor of the ‘Rosehearty’ estate, owned by the Murdochs [which can be yours when she’s done for just $12.9-million] the glories of Apthorp are said to be winning her heart.
“The gated courtyard means they can get in and out of their car without being hassled by paparazzi,” a source tells the News. “There are also several other exits.” they confirmed.
With a reported budget of $25-million, the pair’s plan, so it seems, is to buy three of the lavish new apartments – which boast up to 13 rooms and 11ft ceilings – and make them all one. And at just $1,500 a square-foot, they could score some great room.
But it’s not a done-deal just yet – the Realtors must sell at least 25 of the 32 units in the 1908-vintage building before those chosen as buyers can actually close. With acres of period detail, superb local schools and a fellow-guest list starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Alec Baldwin and the Knicks’ David Lee, the lure must be hard for the pair to resist. We’ll let you know what they do from here on.
